Current Programs
The C-WIB is currently administering the following programs:
Workforce Investment
The Workforce Investment Act funds job training programs and supports a comprehensive One-Stop delivery system. The system is customer-focused and helps participants access the tools they need to manage their careers and also assists businesses in finding skilled workers. A wide range of services are provided to adults, dislocated workers, and youth who meet eligibility criteria.
Rapid Response
The purpose of the Rapid Response program is to help permanently laid-off Missouri workers re-enter the workforce. The program provides a variety of services geared toward preparing laid-off or dislocated workers for placement into satisfying new jobs.
Career Assistance Program (CAP) / Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
The purpose of the program is to provide assistance to needy families with children so they can be cared for in their own home and reduce dependency by promoting job preparation and employment. The goal of the program is that program participants become gainfully employed and self-sufficient.
Guard at Home
The Guard at Home program was established to help the spouses of Missouri Guard and Reserve troops who have been activated in defense of our country, and to assist those troops upon their return home.
This pilot program addresses their immediate needs, and builds a path to employment to help keep the family from falling into poverty while the primary income earner is on active duty deployment.
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act
The Recovery Act, signed by President Obama on February 17, 2009, is intended to preserve and create jobs, promote the nation's economic recovery, and to assist those most impacted by the recession. Adults, dislocated workers, and youth are provided services to assist them in gaining new skills and becoming established on a viable career path.
